And what even is a slut? “A girl who sleeps with multiple partners.” How many? Over what length of time? 10 in a year? 5 in a day? 20 in a month?
It’s so incredibly stupid. I see so many girls afraid to express themselves sexually in any way just because some people will label them as a ‘slut’. Why, as a guy, can I fuck as many girls as I want without the fear of being looked down upon, but girls are expected to hold themselves back from any kind of expression for the sake of society. Just actually think about what you’re saying when you call a girl a slut. As if the fact she’s had sex affects her personality? Now, I know a lot of people who love sex. In fact, it could be said that most people think sex is pretty fantastic. But it doesn’t define who you are any more then holding hands, hugging, or kissing does.
For so long, girls have been oppressed, given basically no rights, treated like second class citizens (and property in some places). Now we’ve reached a time where girls are every bit as important, intelligent, and awesome as boys. But when you call a girl a slut, you’re confirming that every bit of backwards thinking bullshit and all the oppression women have gone through is okay.
Girls have just as much right to express themselves as boys. Sexually, artistically, academically, and physically. Stop using this bullshit label.
Sex…what’s the big deal?
So I came across a subject on Adam’s forum and people just asking why sex bother’s so many people and the idea of open sexuality. So I’d just like to ask the tumblr community what are their thoughts an opinions.
For me, it’s not a big deal and I have no problem with it. I know some people do, but I’d just like opinions that’s all.
I tried to answer but there is a word limit. so here is my response:
I dont understand the problem so many people have with open sexuality. Sex is the escape from emotion. It is in no way connected to the mind. In fact orgasm is probably the one moment where we are free from our minds. What makes us feel like we need this is society. Society has forced sex to be considered as this special act between two people, but its is not. I respect anyone who views it as such and I’m not saying that I myself would ever sleep around uncontrollably, but I think emotion and sex need to be separated. I think after thy have been we can better understand our feelings and ourselves. Sex is complicated it makes things cloudy and for what? It’s a physical action which we give too much power over our minds.
If you want to share it with only people you love that’s your choice, id I find that beautiful, you should never change that, bet sex and love are not connected.
